At the risk of being irreverent, I must confess that I always look with one eyebrow raised when anyone says that God talked to them. The last time that it occurred to me was when I was a student nurse on affiliation at a mental hospital in Los Angeles. The patient had schizophrenia. However, I realize that the bible has stood the test of time and needs to be taken seriously.
Jacob tell us that the entity (God) that he talked to was unnameable, as was the God Moses talked to. I would feel better if both Moses and Jacob had provided witnesses to their conversations to assure their lucidity.

- My life now is about being a college student. Were I to be 17 again (and know then what I know now), I would spend a lifetime in academics. What a joy to learn to think new thoughts! I hope to learn new languages, travel the world, and immerse myself in my life-long interest; learning about the world's religions. A belief in *something* beyond ourselves is the one commonality we share with each other, no matter *what* that belief may be.
