Pai-Chang
This short reading is somewhat amusing. It reminds me of someone who comes down with a bacterial infection, only in that case, the bacteria were waiting for the right moment, right condition, and right person and simply jumped on that person. Simplistic, but so is the concept of the Sutra's statement that beholding the Buddha nature is simply waiting for the right time and condition. This is like taking a shortcut, something probably millions of Buddhists wish were possible.
