One of India's most holy books, the Upanishads, is a study in contrasts. It tells us that there is nothing and that there is something. The Self is all, and yet it has no name and cannot be defined. There is no name to the all-ness that people worship, although it might be termed God beyond description. All is All, and it is omnipotent, omnipresent, and all knowing. It is the deathless Self that is everything.
The Upanishads are a sacred text which were written after the Vedas, and in the belief that everyone can become a spiritual Master with the practice of spiritual disciplines over a period of many life times.
In conclusion, I find that many of their religious concepts are similar in that they believe that nothing seen by the physical eye is real or lasting, a concept which I find interesting but challenging.
