Shankara

This philosopher believed that there is nothing but God in the universe. He tells us to fix our attention on the Bratman, the spiritual essence of all mankind. We must see God everywhere and experience the great joy of silence. We do not need all the external man made sacred places and moral disciplines to experience the eternally present power of the Atman. The enlightened one lives unattached to the world, no matter what the surroundings or circumstances.

The enlightened one knows that he is part of everything and yet part of nothing. He knows that he is part of the great Consciousness that is God and yet cannot be named. It is all and everything. His great and constant joy is his unattachment to things of this world. It is All.
