In starting to read this essay, I had to back up and start many times. But that's not all. Each and every paragraph was tackled several times before possibly getting the meaning (I hope). Fortunately, Gregory says something I can latch on to when he says, "do not despair at never being able to behold what you desire. For you do have within your grasp the degree of knowledge of God which you can attain."
Possibly could Gregory have meant that we can not understand the many manifestation of the Almighty until we can rid ourselves of our "degenerate" lives? His philosophy reminds me of some of our current television preachers who say one thing and do another.
